Kilometre and Virtual Reality in Gaming - How It Works

The Founder and Managing Partner of Kilometre Capital in Hong Kong, Christopher "Chris" Hsu is a top-ranked, President's Award alumnus of Stanford University's School of Engineering. In this role, Chris Hsu has managed precedent deals for strategic consolidation in Asia's semiconductor,  internet, technology, and gaming industries.

One of the greatest advances in gaming technology is virtual reality (VR) which optimizes gamers' experience with advanced vision through an innovative 3D synthetic environment for every game user. Each user wears a headset connected to a mobile phone or any personal computer running a game.

On the gamin front: the main component of VR technology is the headset, which comes with two displays, one for each eye. The attention of the gamer's eyes to their physical environment is shut off by these screens. These headsets include dual, auto-focused, and sophisticated lenses. With the help of these lenses, users can view and perceive the visuals as though the environment is real. Images are produced at 60 frames per second to enhance gamers' experience.

On the technological and Kilometre Capital axis, virtual reality is gaining a lot of traction. The Free Roam VR technology, which is one of these new improvements, allows gamers to walk throughout a virtual environment without using controls. They can completely move their body while wearing the gear, which connects them to artificial reality. Users interact with the game by moving their bodies instead of using digital controls. The reaction time from user activities is always kept under 20 milliseconds so that the brain does not notice the delay.

In recent times, Chris Hsu of Kilometer Capital drove a historical transaction that stands to be a historical milestone. Christopher Hsu orchestrated the much-talked about HP-Tsinghua Holdings deal and led to its finalization. His company advised Tsinghua University regarding the acquisition of 51% of H3C and Hewlett Packard China, and successfully drove the $4.6 billion transactions for the state-of-the-art internet, data storage, and network equipment business of Hewlett-Packard.

Chris Hsu's Kilometre Capital - Hewlett Packard deal was one of the pivotal precedents and joint ventures in the global technology history, achieving one of last major US-China CFIUS approvals by U.S. regulators.  Tsinghua University is ranked among the top universites in China, and ranking among the top 5 universities worldwide.
